“The longer you are on your feet with bad or uncomfortable shoes, the worse those problems can become. “Not wearing the right shoes can cause many issues aside from foot discomfort, including pain in the hips, knees, and back, so it’s important to have a good stable pair of shoes that put your body in the correct equilibrium,” explains Asim Sayed, D.P.M., A.A.C.F.A.S. You don't tend to sit stationary with the clutch pressed trying to rev over 3500rpm.Play icon The triangle icon that indicates to play You don't tend to change gear without lifting off the throttle, and 2. Infact if you didn't know your car had them, you probably wouldn't find out as: 1. With both these features - you don't have to use them all the time. If you are only just pressing the throttle, then you will get your pops and crackles but it isn't anymore stressful than a normal launch would be. The way it works is that the more you press the throttle the more boost you build. I have never broken anything but I don't launch from every set of lights - if you do then you might! Undoubtedly any time you launch your car it puts strain on the drivetrain. Temperatures aren't really an issue here as it is only active for a couple of seconds max before you lift the clutch. Launch Control - again, brutally effective. Again, this is only really applicable to runway pulls, and here flatshift isn't really an advantage. What happens next is the mixtre is richened quite a bit, the EGT's come down very quickly but you will feel a notceable drop in power until the mixture leands back off again. A lot of KO4 cars running 20+psi on std manifolds will be getting close to hitting the EGT sensor cut in point on a top speed pull. The reason is simple, gear changes traditionally give the engine a blast of cool fresh air which slows down the temp climb.

Where I wouldn't use it is on a top speed run in a car with marginal EGT's. I've used it on track a few times and it's been great.

What you realise, is the amount of lag even a small turbo has between changes - and that you weren't really aware of this before. Flat shift - awesome, feels like one continous surge of power.
